Linacre Avenue
The dwellings along the length of Linacre Avenue make it quite obvious the development timetable spans both serval years and building contractors. Started in the late 1950s the final development was not until the mid-1970s. The only commercial aspect was the provision of a small parade of shops providing newsagents, groceries, green grocers and a butchers, now all one shop instead of individual businesses. Running as it does from Falcon Road to Blue Boar Lane it gave easy access to Bugdens Supermarket when it relocated to Blue Boar Lane. After much campaigning by the residents who had to walk to Wroxham Road to catch a bus Eastern Counties Buses started a service that originally terminated at Inman Road. This was extended to serve the then recently opened supermarket but the width of modern buses caused problems when two had to pass resulting in the present one-way bus service that exists to today
