Hooper Lane has long since been swept away although the name still exists in the area. The lane only had housing on the north side and seems to have been one single terrace of small two up two down cottages, no doubt housing for the workers in the nearby brick yards. On the south side was a works that had been used by the Eldorado Ice Cream Company but was later taken over by T. W. Page the welder, well borer and water supply engineer remaining on this site until the 1970s. At the far end of the lane they had originally been access to the brickyard owned by Lacey Lincoln although the brick kilns had closed pre-war they were not demolished until the 1960s. At this point much of the land became used by the Showman's Guild as a base whilst not travelling.
