This road took its name from an extremely isolated farm building that had stood on the site under development. It was unusual in having no start or finish being a complete oval with a stub going off northwards from the lower end to make a four way junction with Corbet and Russell Avenues and Cannerby Lane. Building started in the early 1950s.
