Laundry Lane left Blue Boar Lane at approximately its midpoint on a sharp bend. The lane indeed lead at one time to laundry which was set up to service the linen requirements of Sprowston Hall. Beyond the laundry the lane gave access to White House Farm, the whole area being part of the estate belonging to the Gurney Family. Immediately in from Blue Boar Lane were some workers cottages which survived to this day although in rebuilt form.
