Farms of Sprowston

A number of farms in Sprowston have been known by alternative names and this is reflected below.

Boar Farm/Home Farm

The farm buildings were situated at the junction of Blue Boar Lane and Wroxham Road and the name was changed to Home Farm sometime in the early 1900s. See Boar Farm for illustrations.

Church Farm/Lincolns Farm

Situated at the junction of Church Lane and Barkers Lane there was another farm plus Wilk’s Farm. Church Farm is often referred to as Lincoln's Farm who was reported to be the last tenant prior to the farm becoming the Agricultural Research Station. Whilst the farm buildings have gone the farmhouse still remains as a private residence.

Dixons Farm/Stonehouse Farm

Home Farm/Boar Farm

Wilks Farm

The farm stood at the junction of Church and Barkers Lanes with Church Farm on the opposite side of the junction. The farmhouse, outbuildings and cottages were demolished, the site now being occupied by modern dwellings.
